Morning

Campers and helpers tend to get up from 7am to get washed and dressed in time for a cooked breakfast served outside from 8am.

It’s then time to check the duty rota and make a start on either washing up, cleaning the wash blocks or clearing up mess in the dining room. Patrol points are always available for the best completed duties!

10am arrives with the sound of a bugle, and everyone comes together on the top field for flag break. Hamish updates everyone on the plan for the day, and the all important patrol point scores.

Morning activities are varied but can include sports, the aerial runway, backwoods cooking, parachute games and many more.

Afternoon

Lunch is served al fresco at 1pm, and bellies get filled before the patrol in charge of washing up get set to work again.

Afternoon activities are also varied, but often include swimming, patrol challenges and adventures in the woods.

Thursdays at camp are reserved for ‘Theme Day’ – each year sees a different theme, and the whole day is dedicated to preparing, performing and celebrating together. Over the years, we have been on safari, taken a trip to the wild west and even had Christmas in the middle of summer.

Evening

By the time the 6pm bell rings, stomachs can be heard rumbling as the queue forms for dinner. From Sunday roast and fish pie to curry and chili con carne, the cooks know the way to an Adventurer’s heart.

After dinner, there is always a camp activity for those up for it – from quizzes and party night discos to campfires and night walks in the woods, there is something for everyone.

There’s always time for a hot chocolate before bed, even on Wednesdays when beds are under stars instead of canvas…
