Helper Life

Being a helper at Adventurers’ Camp is a unique and unforgettable experience. That’s why so many people return to help at camp each year.

Helping those with additional needs can take many forms: from helping with physical needs and personal care to giving encouragement and a helping hand where necessary.

Whether you have some experience or none, we aim to ensure every helper has new opportunities and tries new things while caring for another person.

New helpers are paired with experienced ones, so there is always a friendly face nearby if you have any questions. Patrol leaders also have years of experience, and do their best to make all helpers and campers feel comfortable throughout the week.

Camper Life

Adventurers’ Camp is the week of the year where boys with additional needs can meet new and old friends, try new things and make memories that will last a lifetime.

Helpers at camp aren’t there to do things for campers – they are there to help campers, with adventurous activities and everyday chores alike.

Unlike a school residential, Adventurers’ Camp is run by and for volunteers – we hope to give every camper the opportunity to do something they have never done before. From sleeping in a timber-frame tent or under the stars to zooming across a valley on the aerial runway and making fires, the friendly and accepting atmosphere at camp makes for an unforgettable week.
